No one should have to choose between paying bills or caring for a loved one; between being an employee or a caregiver.

It’s time we pass

paid family and medical leave in Colorado!

About the coalition.

Why paid family and medical leave?

Take action to support paid family!

The FAMLI Coalition, which has been advocating to bring paid family and medical leave to Colorado for years, wants to hear from people all across our state about how your ability to access or not access paid leave in this time of crisis is impacting you and your family.

Almost 9 out of 10 Colorado workers have no paid family leave; meanwhile 26% have leave but it’s UNPAID.

Our state’s working families are being left behind: in today’s economy, the rich are getting richer while everyone else is getting squeezed.

At some point, nearly everyone needs time away from work to care for their family, themselves, or a new baby.

For most working people, it’s nearly impossible to take time off from work and lose that paycheck to be a caregiver.

Coloradans shouldn’t have to worry about losing their job if someone in their family loses their health.

Bringing paid family & medical leave (PFML) to Colorado would create a statewide insurance program that allows people to receive a portion of their pay when they need time away from their jobs for family or medical reasons. A new self-sustaining fund would be created through very small shared costs to employees and employers.

PFML would allow Colorado’s women and families to maintain basic spending at a time they need it the most – it’s a simple, common sense solution hardworking Coloradans deserve. And it’s the perfect prescription that will keep working people, families, local businesses, and the economy vital and healthy.

We can contribute to the stability of families, communities and a growing economy. We can level the playing field for small businesses that want to provide paid leave for their employees but can’t afford to do it on their own.
